Oh, Finally! I'm home! I am so happy! ^_^ I can't believe I was so homesick even if I was just away for 11 days. hehehe.
Spain was really great. We visited Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada, Valencia and Toledo, if I'm not mistaken. These places are filled with history. I was so amazed with the fact that one church which dated back from the 10th century was preserved! ^_^ Hmmm... Let's summarize what I have done so far in my trip. ^_^
Day 1: Arrival at Madrid (April 7, Friday)
- We thought our luggage got lost! Nobody told us it was in another terminal! (Good thing there was this old Spanish dude that helped us. ^_^) Because of this, we missed our hotel transfer and we arrived at our hotel at about 1 o' clock in the morning! It was really tiring!
- Met mister Mario Lavina, a Filipino who now lives in Spain, in a grocery store; he gave us directions so that we can roam about town.
- Bought 1 Pokemon activity-something magazine ^_^
- Met our tour group; good thing there were 2 Asians there ^_^
Day 2: Madrid to Barcelona (April 8, Saturday)
- Many stop overs
- I bought 2 of those 1-Euro-each collect-them-all Pokemon-figurines-inside-the-egg in a vending machine in one of our stops
- We went to Guell park. Gaudi is an amazing architect. Wow. His works are just superb!

- Saw a fountain show. Really beautiful ^_^

Day 3: More of Barcelona (April 9, Sunday)
- We went to Montserrat which is a totally beautiful place. It left me breathless. This is the home of the Black Madonna and a boys choir which sings at totally high notes. Really interesting ^_^
^Me in Montserrat^
- We saw the Sagrada Familia church which is under construction now for about 100 years. One of Gaudi's works. It's really amazing. I've never seen a church like this one in my entire life!

- I bought a Nintendo mag (April ish) which contains a Pokemon mag in each issue! Weee! It even has tons of walkthroughs! (Well, even if the walkthroughs are in Spanish... hehe.)
Day 4: Barcelona to Valencia (April 10, Monday)
- Nothing much happened here, we just went to the town center at night ang watched the Spanish-version of the prusisyon ^_^. There are these guys who wear high pointed hats. Weird...
Day 5: Valencia to Granada (April 11, Tuesday)
- We went to the Alhambra (Granada). The Alhambra is the most visited place in Spain, with about 2 million visitors each year. It is a Moorish and Rennaisance palace which is really beautiful. ^_^

Day 6: Granada to Seville (April 12, Wednesday)
- Before leaving for Seville, we went and walked through the streets of Albaicin, a Moorish town which dates back in around the 15th century, if I'm not mistaken. It is a very quaint town located on a hill and it has a magnificent view of the rest of the city.

Day 7: More of Seville (April 13, Thursday)
- We went to the Cathedral of Seville, this is where one of Christopher Columbus's tombs are in.
- Bought yet another Nintendo mag with a Pokemon ish in it. Wow. They make their May issues so early. ^_^
^Me in front of Christopher Columbus's tomb^
- We had a leisurely (I prefer to call it "torturely") walk from the Seville Cathedral to our hotel. We walked under the heat of the scorching sun and got lost at the same time! We reached our hotel after 2 hours pf walking and wandering around. We found "Angulo Diego Iniguez" by accident. Wow. Our surname is a name of a road in Spain! ^_^
Day 8: Back to Madrid (April 14, Friday)
- We went to Cordoba, an old Moorish city with something called as the Mezquita in it. The Mezquita is a Muslim temple and a Christian church in one package. It was really beutiful. You can see how the Christian style blended with the Muslim style of architecture. Their contrast was really great. ^_^
^Inside the Mezquita^
- Went to Plaza Espana, a building representing all of Spain built in 1921 for a so-called world exhibit. I have a trivia: This was used as Princess Lea's castle for the 2nd Star Wars installment. ^_^

Day 9: More of Madrid (April 15, Saturday)
- We went to the Prado Museum and saw the works of Spain's famous painters, Diego Velasquez and Goya. Well, as an art and museum-lover, of course I loved this trip. ^_^ I saw the "Las Meninas" painting by Diego Velasquez here... Oh the memories of Art 2!!! *Shocked and freaked out* (Pisay people, especially those who are in the science stream, I bet you'll understand why this painting is so memorable for me. ^_^)

- We went to Toledo. It's such a wonderful city. Well, Toledo used to be the capital of Madrid, and the city has been preserved (I mean it looks the same as it was back in the ancient times ^_^) and it is just amazing to see a city which looks as if it came from the past. It like going back in time. ^_^
- We got lost in Toledo. Oh shucks. Because of me!!! You see, I have this habit of buying postcards in every place I visit and I got engrossed in choosing the best one, so we were left behind by our group. My parents were sooo mad at me for a few minutes. Good thing it didn't last long. Since we were left behind by our group, we ran as fast as we can (we ran throughout Toledo - Oh boy, it was like a marathon, I tell you.) to the other side of Toledo, and back to the other side just to find our bus. My legs are aching until now. Ugh. o_O

- Finally, the ultimate treat. After arriving in the hotel, my mom opened the TV and browsed to the channels... Then, in channel 12, I saw Pikachu's face on the screen. "POKEMON!!! Mommy, ibalik mo siya dun sa channel na yun!!! Nakita ko si Pikachu!!!" I was right, alright, channel 12 was Jetix, the home of the Pokemon series in Spain. I was such in luck! at that time, Jetix was having this special Pokemon marathon called "Marapoketones". I managed to watch 13 episodes of Pokemon in the TV! Wow! Spain is really into pokemon, ay?! It was a Pokemon watch-till-you-drop thing. The network selected some episodes from Johto to be shown on TV. It was really neat. There's actually a Pokemon marathon in Spain! Wow!!! ^_^
Day 10-11: Going back home... (April 16-17, Sunday- Monday)
- We went to the airport, rode the airplane (I watched Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the airplane out of boredom.) and arrived here in the Philippines! I was so homesick! It's great to be back home!
Some Things I learned from Spain...
- Filipinos are all over Madrid and Barcelona!
- Spanish and Tagalog have more words in common than I thought I know!
- Spain is an incredible place filled with art and history!
- Pokemon is very popular in Spain!
- Spanish TV is like Filipinpo TV, only worse. They also have all their shows dubbed in Spanish, plus, their acting is so over-acting and it is very obvious that they are in some studio or something. hehehe.
- Don't think too much in buying postcards or else you'll get lost!
Well, till then!

P.S. I'm updating the template of this blog again... soon. hehehe.
