Superman: Secret Identity

Superman: Secret Identity

by: Kurt Busiek and Stuart Immonen

"It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Superman."
"I can so relate."
-Clark Kent, Superman: Secret Identity

Okay... I know I barely read books, but this one is sooooo cool!

Well, I've always been a fan of superheroes... (Yes, believe it or not. From the X-men, to Spiderman to Batman to whatsoever) and comic-based cartoons. (Martin Mystery, Static Shock, Justice League and the list goes on...) But, this was the first time I've ever bought something concerning "SUPERMAN".

Superman, as far as I'm concerned, is probably the superhero of superheroes. He's the most famous superhero alive! Everybody probably knows who Clark Kent is... Yeah... But, this story... ehem, comic book is different.

So here comes Clark Kent, an average, ordinary, high school student who was named Clark because his parents thought it was funny to have somebody in the family to be named after Superman. Yeah, everybody thinks it's funny. Clark's always been teased about Superman. Little did he know that one day, he'll get Superman's powers, and the adventure begins.

Unlike the "real" Superman, (I mean, the one in the comic books.) Clark Kent doesn't fight all those villains, he just does what he can to help mankind. People always get the impression that superheroes practically do the same thing, meaning fighting crime... and falling in love. This one's different. This one talks about a Clark Kent who goes through pretty much the same things we go through in life. (Insecurities, pressure, etc.) And this one, helps you appreciate your life more. It talks about a journey through life in Clark Kent's point of view, from each point of his life.
